Changes afoot at the 10am

This Sunday, we are having our first service at Rosalie and there are a few changes to the locations of the bible study groups. The Jnr Boys and girls bible study group will gather under the large tree (with the benches) and move across to the church hall soon after the beginning of the service. The year 6's will be escorted along with kids church and will use the pre-school room at church.

Look forward to seeing you there

Jeesh

I hope all you guys and gals can make it along, its shaping up to be a great time in Bible Study this year. We are going to study Colossians, all of us. The plan is to hang together, guys and gals, before and after Bible Study. In between we will break into our seperate groups and study Colossians - but doing the same sort of stuff. It will rock!!

I hope I see you there this Sunday.

Also Friday Night Youth Group kicks of on the 6th of Feb, the Friday after this one. It will be at the same time and place (7pm - 9pm at the church building) but with maybe a few extra things... you'll have to come and find out.

Enjoy the rest of your holidays!

Matt

P.S. There is a BBQ after church Sunday.

Whats goin on?

Hi happy holidayer's,

Hope you had a great Christmas with friends and family remembering the birth of Jesus. The Christmas day service was great, as where the Eve services. Good carols, bible readings, talks and fellowship.

Today not many of you were round at church so I postponed what I was planning to run during 10am church. This means next week come prepared for a Memory Verse Obstacle course - involving no less than four different aspects - I'm excited to run it as I reckon its going to rock. I'm also planning to run dodge-ball-soccer!! Its going to be sick. So make sure you get down to 10am church next Sunday for some good solid fun.

Also on Jan 17th I am planning to run a water fight, so put that one down in your diary for a 'rainy day.' On the 17th come with a water gun or water bombs if you have one, and a spare change of clothes if possible, and be ready to rumble.

Any seniors please let us know when you will be free for a social event, we have had a request for another Dark Zone trip, so let us know when you are free.

As usual please comment with ay suggestions for things to do or stuff to improve.

I hope that all of you who are traveling will stay safe (I also hope those who are staying home will stay safe), have heaps of fun, and come back ready and raring to plunge into youth group and school.

P.S. We are not far of being able to tell you about who the leaders for next year will be. Stay tuned and hear it here first (maybe).

Thank God You're Here

Well its one day to go now, so I'm sure your all looking expectantly towards tomorrow:) Or it may be that you have a tradition similar to my family and get to open some presents today, we actually have dinner with one side of the family today to make tomorrow less busy - it's awesome.

I hope that like us you can do a bit of celebrating, and there is no better way to do it today than heading to one of the church's Chrissy Eve services.

Kids and Carols is going to rock out at 6pm tonight, over at the school. With day light savings it means there is still heaps of light after the service to hang out and muck around with each other. As well as enjoying the Kids Talk and other such awesomeness. I'll be there and we can hang out after if your down with it.

For those of you who take a more 'intimate' approach come and join me at the 11pm service at the church. It's a more mature traditional service - well a little traditional but not massively - and its where the uni students and workers generally head (and the cool youth groupers, ie you should come).

The other alternative is to be hardcore and go to both!! I bet Dan will *wink*

Make sure you celebrate tomorrow as well. We'll see you at 9:30 at the school (hopefully I'll be in some new clothes as mine as falling apart).

In other news the Christmas Kids Workshop finished successfully today, lots of fun and crazyness kid style. Maybe next year we'll have to do a youth program to compete with them - and blow some stuff up! As usual comment with any ideas you have and we'll probably do it.

Have an awesome Christmas!! Celebrate the coming of Christ our Saviour into the world!!

Christmas Time

Hi all,

It was great to see some Youth Groupers helping out with the Kids workshop this morning - its always encouraging seeing you guys make an effort to help other people, especially with Church activities. There is two more days of it so make sure you prayer for everyone helping to run it, especially Jeesh, that they keep up the energy and have fun. Also pray that the kids might hear and understand about why Jesus came to earth at Christmas.

I hope I can see some of you on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services, they should be great fun and a good reminder of what we believe happens to us through Jesus.
Kids and Carols (6pm 24th @ Rosalie) is shaping up to be a fun time, though the more adventurous of you might want to join me at the Midnight service to see in Christmas day (11pm 24th @ St Matts Church). I love the midnight service its a cool time of celebration of Jesus' birth and really sets a good tone for all of Christmas - and you may be able to wangle a present opening when you get home after midnight.

Whatever services you go to, or where ever you may be on Christmas I pray that God may bless you with the understanding of what Christmas brings, and with the peace that was brought to earth by Jesus. Eat, drink, laugh, give, receive, play, talk and have an awesome time!!

Remember that Christ came to the world to bring us to God!

PYLC 2009

Hi all,

For those few of you who will be over 16 years old in 2009 there is the opportunity to head on to PYLC in Janurary, 19th-22nd. What is PYLC and why would I want to go? Its four days of training in the Bible and how to lead a youth group - thats why it stands for Perth Youth Leadership Conference.

As many of the leaders will be going to get training, so feel free to join us if you want to dig into God's word and equip yourself for serving God's people (looking at you older people going into yr 11 and 12). Also, Jeremey and Matt will be leading one of the groups... and that's gold!!

Follow the link to Gav's 10am church blog to get more details, or post a comment and I'll send you a rego form. Its a really great conference - it my, Matt, 7th one - so definitely come if you can.

See you soon.

Sunday the 21st

This Sunday morning will be the lessons and carols service. There will be a bunch of Bible readings and carols sung, and Kanishka will be speaking on God's plan for humanity and how it works through Jesus.

It sounds like the sermon will be a great one to stay in and listen too, so the Youth Groupers can either sit with the leaders or stay with their parents.

The Sunday after, 28th, I am planning a bit more of an active outdoors time, probably mixing some sports with a bit of memory verse game fun.

See ya then,

Matt on behalf of the Junior Youth Team
